Change for the Price of a Coffee
How long have you been in the photography business?
10 years, 4 years, 6 months? Chances are that whether you are established or still green in business, there are always ways to improve.
As we are all in the photography industry, we are well aware that aesthetics are very important.
However, when was the last time you had a look at your business aesthetics?
I know, you are probably running off your feet busy and have little time or money to actually think much about this. However, I promise you that it will cost you no more than the price of your favorite hot beverage.
Myself, a few years ago, used this method to improve my own business. For the price of a double cappuccino dry with extra foam “I know a coffee snob, right? ” So it cost me around $5, not bad for it helping to increase my business and reputation…
How is this possible?
Well, it’s easier than you think! Simply go to your favorite coffee shop and buy your signature coffee!
Easy right? Yes I know, that’s not quite all of it.
There is a more contemplative aspect to it as well. This coffee that you just bought, you need to take it to go. You’re not sitting here today. No, today you are taking that coffee to work… however you aren’t walking through your door. Instead, I want you to walk across the street from your place and take a seat facing your business. If your coffee shop is across the street, make sure you’re sitting at the window facing your business.
Now that you’re sitting across the street from your business, I want you to look at it. Observe the details; look at it as if it’s not your business. Observe anyone who looks over at it. Spend 20 minutes. When you walk in the door finally, walk in as if it’s the first time and really look at what’s surrounding you. What’s your first impression?
Try this and you will be amazed by the changes you will make simply for the price of your favorite coffee.
